Privacy Policy

MyTribe Travels is run by Steve and Therese Devan from San Diego, California. This page explains what we do with the information you give us. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We collect what you type into our forms, and nothing else. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking pixels of any kind. Nobody is following you around the internet on our behalf. We have never sold anyone’s information and we are not going to start.

What we collect

Only what a form asks for, and only when you send it:

• Contact form — your name, email address, phone number, your message, whether you have travelled with us before, and whether you want to join the mailing list.
• Trip enquiry and waiting list — your name, email address, phone number, and which tour you are asking about.
• MailBag — your name and email address, the traveler you are writing to, your message, and whether it is a shout out or a confidential message.
• Mailing list — your email address.

We do not ask for passport numbers, dates of birth or payment details anywhere on this website. When you book a tour, those go directly to the tour operator — see below.

Why we have it

To answer you, to arrange the travel you asked about, and — if you asked for it — to send you news about upcoming trips. That is the whole list. If you are in the UK or the EU, our lawful bases are your consent for the mailing list and our legitimate interest in replying to an enquiry you sent us.

Who else sees it

• Netlify hosts this site and receives form submissions on our behalf.
• Our email provider, because a form submission becomes an email to Steve.
• The tour operator — currently Collette — but only once you decide to book, and only what a booking needs. They have their own privacy policy, which governs what they hold.

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell it, rent it, or trade it.

The video on our homepage

It is embedded through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which is why we can say this site sets no cookies. YouTube may still record that the video was played. If you press play, Google’s privacy policy applies to that.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in Steve’s email while they are useful — a conversation about a tour often picks up a year later. Booking records are kept as long as the law requires. Mailing list addresses stay until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete something and we will.

Your rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Steve@MyTribeTravels.com or call {PHONE} and we will do it. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult.

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the other rights are yours and the contacts above are how you use them. We will not discriminate against you for asking.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority.

The mailing list

You only get on it by asking. Every email has an unsubscribe link, it works immediately, and using it costs you nothing else — you will still hear back if you write to us.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Security, honestly stated

This site is served over HTTPS and we keep the number of places your information travels as small as we can. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Changes

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If the change matters, we will say so on the site rather than hope you notice.
