Before you book
Is this tour right for you?
Activity level 3 — Active. A level 3 suits an on-the-go traveler. Walking and standing for two to three hours at a stretch is fine by you, a moderately paced two-and-a-half hour walking tour over hills and uneven ground is no problem, and four miles across a day is very doable. You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some long days with early starts.
This tour is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices, and motorized scooters are not permitted. There are numerous long touring days of around eight hours, and reaching Edinburgh Castle involves a climb of steps. Hotels in this part of the world are often smaller and may not have air conditioning.

Paying for it
You reserve with a deposit of $698 per person, refundable until January 12, 2027, and the balance is not due until the final payment date above. Once your deposit is in and Collette confirms the booking, your price is locked — it cannot rise except for government-imposed tax or fee increases.
Protecting your money
Collette’s cancellation waiver and insurance costs $599 per person and is not included in the tour price. It has to be bought with your first deposit — it cannot be added later. Without it you will pay change and cancellation penalties.
The waiver does not cover the single supplement you would be charged if the person you are rooming with cancels. That amount is deducted from their refund.
